Durham University was recently ranked 4th in the UK in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017, and ranked 61st in the QS World University Rankings 2016. Durham University is now ranked amongst the worldâs top universities in 27 of the 46 subjects and all 5 subject areas featured in the 2017 QS World University Rankings by Subject. The 2017 rankings, which are based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact, place three of Durhamâs subjects within the top 10 in the world and eight subjects in the top 50. Theology & Religion has been ranked 3rd in the world, in the first year that QS has included rankings in this subject area. Archaeology has also increased its global ranking to 4th in the world, up one place on the previous year. Geography keeps its top 10 ranking, placed 7th in the world this year. Anthropology, English, History, Law and Earth Sciences are all placed in the top 50 whilst a further six subjects are ranked in the top 100. Durham University is proud of its graduates, many of whom have gone on to the highest levels of achievement in their chosen fields.
