Established in 1990, Mount Maunganui Language Centre is the longest established English School in Tauranga. With an average of 50 students we offer high quality English classes to international students. The average class size is 7 students per class, and students come from all over the world – students from 20 different countries attended our school in 2009. The school is located in downtown Mount Maunganui – close to shops and restaurants, and only 700 metres from one of New Zealand’s most beautiful beaches. Students can study English as a stand-alone qualification, or they can use our course as preparation to enter High School, University or Polytechnic. Many of our graduates have gone on to successful study at Universities in New Zealand and internationally. We have a Memorandum of Understanding with a large provider of tertiary study in our area, meaning our students do not need to take the IELTS test to enter their programmes. In addition to General English courses, we offer preparation for IELTS, TOEIC and Cambridge examinations, as well as short term English + Activity programmes. Mount Maunganui Language Centre is an Authorised TOEIC Testing Centre, and our students consistently achieve excellent results in these international exams. Our focus is on providing the highest levels of care, tuition, and assistance to our students. We provide a full service to students, including transfers from the Auckland Airport to Mount Maunganui, homestay accommodation, visa assistance, an excellent after-school social programme, and weekend excursions. Our teachers are highly-qualified and experienced, undergoing regular professional development both internally and externally. The school is a member of English New Zealand, the leading association of English Language Schools in New Zealand.
