Drexel University Drexel University is one of America’s 15 largest private universities and has been ranked among the nation’s Top 100 best universities for the past five years. Drexel is best known for starting one of the nation’s largest and oldest cooperative-education programs. Through the Drexel Co-op program, students gain on-the-job training with employers worldwide while earning their degree. Drexel University is located in one of the nation’s first and largest cities – Philadelphia which is located halfway between New York City and Washington, D.C. English Language Center Located on the main campus of Drexel University, the English Language Center offers courses in academic English, pre-MBA preparation, and an undergraduate conditional admission program. Courses are offered year round for beginning to advanced level students. Academic advising and individualized tutoring sessions are available to all students. Conditional Admission Programs Academically qualified students that do not meet the TOEFL or IELTS requirement for admission to Drexel University can receive conditional admission through the Drexel International Gateway program or through the Bridge Program with partner universities. Drexel International Gateway This is an undergraduate conditional admission program where students take university courses worth up to 21 credits and participate in Intercultural Community Bridge – a program that connects international students and domestic students through conversation and activities within the community. Students that successfully complete the Drexel International Gateway receive full admission to Drexel University. Bridge Program Students that do not have the TOEFL or IELTS score can receive conditional admission to a partner university through the Bridge Program. Conditional admission is available for undergraduate and graduate study. Students that complete the requirements of their conditional admission at Drexel ELC can begin full-time university study without having to take the TOEFL or IELTS test. Intensive English Program The Intensive English Program is designed to prepare students for academic study at an American university. Advanced level students may take courses in Business English, the language of STEM, the language of Media & Design, and IELTS or TOEFL test preparation.
